INSPIRING QUOTES

Leo Tolstoy Quotes>
I chose him because he stood up for what he believed in...And I admire him!!!!!!!!

*All, everything that I understand, I understand only because I love.
*Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.

*Historians are like deaf people who go on answering questions that no one has asked them.
* Man lives consciously for himself, but is an unconscious instrument in the attainment of the historic, universal, aims of humanity.
*One of the first conditions of happiness is that the link between Man and Nature shall not be broken.
*The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.
*True life is lived when tiny changes occur.
*Truth, like gold, is to be obtained not by its growth, but by washing away from it all that is not gold.

Trends I love> Ombre hair

ombre hair
You've seen ombre hair on stars like Rachel Bilson,Whitney Port,Lauren Conrad,Erin Wasson,Alexa Chung(Alexa Chung is credited with popularizing the ombre hair style—which she also proves works just as well on short hair as it does on long),Lily Aldrige...
Ombre hair color is a trend rapidly gaining in popularity -- and why not?! Fresh and casual, ombre hair color is a flattering and relatively low-maintenance technique...
Ombre hair color is generally darker at the roots through the mid-shaft and then gradually gets lighter from the mid-shaft to the ends. It is usually achieved using a balayage technique and is ideal for clients looking for a low-maintenance style.
!Ombre is a French word that literally means shaded!
I  love this look! It's fresh and unique. A little beachy and casual. We probably wouldn't try it at home, but done right, it's an extremely flattering way to "go lighter." If you're thinking about a blonde hairstyle, but have always feared that it wouldn't flatter your complexion, ombre hair color is a nice compromise. Keep your natural color with closer to your face and transition as light as you dare at your ends.

*Natural brunets will have the most luck pulling this shade off. Simply ask your colorist to add uneven ribbons of a lighter hue—and keep in mind, balayage highlights, that is, those painted directly onto the hair shaft without foils or a cap, will look the most believable.

I really do want to try this hair trend!I think it is soooo lovely and actually mimics the hair color of my childhood(in the summer my hair would lighten dramatically)!!!

Outfit Of The Day-Romantic In Lace

From sweet day dresses to sensual see-through gowns, fashion has fallen for lace...<3

Lace was used in full looks as well as a detail within trims and embellishments. Some designers such as Christopher Kane designed fabrics such as leather and pleather to replicate lace through a laser technique. Accessories reinforced the trend using lace in special techniques such as laser cut-outs and appliques within shoes and handbags.

COLORED LACE (Erdem lace dress,1-Alexa Chung;2-Spring 2011 RTW)

There are 3 classifications of lace on the runway:

*LINGERIE INSPIRED LACE describes a dressy delicate lace that was seen with beaded embellishments and in combination with other fabrications such as sheer chiffon.

*ANTIQUE/TABLECLOTH LACE includes white and tea stained lace that channels a romantic feeling from the 1970′s.

*COLORED LACE with an emphasis on 1950′s silhouettes. Neon and bright candy colors are a big trend for the Spring runways, and lace is included in this trend.

________________________________________________________________

***Belts are a great way to add some lace to your look. The best thing is that lace can sometimes look bulky, but belts are a great waist-cincher, so you can still try out the lace trend without losing your hourglass shape. A lace shoe, whether a flat or a heel, is also a great way to get in on the trend without worrying about what undergarments you'll need to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions.

The lovely and delicate braids that crowned the model’s heads are adorable...I just love romantic, bohemian spirit, that braids bring!!!And make up should be natural!!!

LIFE>World Book and Copyright Day - April 23rd

April 23rd: a symbolic date for world literature for on this date and in the same year of 1616, Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died. It is also the date of birth or death of other prominent authors such as Maurice Druon, K.Laxness, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla and Manuel Mejía Vallejo. It was a natural choice for UNESCO's General Conference to pay a world-wide tribute to books and authors on this date, encouraging everyone, and in particular young people, to discover the pleasure of reading and gain a renewed respect for the irreplaceable contributions of those who have furthered the social and cultural progress of humanity.

Outfit Of The Day>Orange Time,Girls!!!

The spring summer 2011 collections displayed a distinctly 1970′s tone. With the relaxed glamour of the 70′s I have only one word on my mind: vintage. This season the carefree spirit of 1970′s fashion can be recreated with the following garments:decorative flower print, platform wedges, orange, eventually everything that pops with colour!
Lovely Orange
-A ditsy flowered print isn't too overpowering.
-Accessorize with a cross-body bag.
*Photos-Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2011.
Spring 2011 is all about orange, and if you don’t like orange, well…that sucks for you, I guess. But keep an open mind!Orange is a hot, strong and energetic colour that represents hues from Spring’s bright palette. It’s no wonder why fashion houses including Vena Cava, Prada, Cacharel, Diane von Furstenberg, and Versace named orange the Ambassador of 2011′s Statement Colours.
Having replaced red from the classic colour leadership, orange promises to match every skin type. The hint is: the paler you are, the more pastel shade of orange you ought to choose. Fortunately, there are many orange hues to choose: clementine, marigold, mandarin, burnt orange.

- hair is inspired by the 1930’s.
- transparency in the skin—a little glow—and very matte lips.

PEOPLE I LOVE>Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn’s big break came in 1953 when she was cast opposite Gregory Peck in the charming, old-fashioned romantic comedy Roman Holiday. She immediately captured the public’s imagination with her talent, innocence, and her wistful beauty.By the mid-1950s, Hepburn was not only one of the biggest motion-picture stars in Hollywood, but also a major fashion influence who was admired and imitated throughout the world. Her movies have remained enduring classics and in Breakfast At Tiffany’s she established Holly Golightly as one of the most iconic characters of American cinema...
Audrey Hepburn (4 May 1929 - 20 January 1993) was an iconic Academy Award-winning actress, fashion model and humanitarian.Born Audrey Kathleen Ruston in Brussels, Belgium, she was the only child of John Victor Hepburn-Ruston, an Anglo Irish banker, and Baroness Ella van Heemstra, a Dutch aristocrat descended from French and English kings. Her father later appended the name Hepburn to his surname, and Audrey's surname became Hepburn-Ruston. She had two half-brothers, Alexander and Ian Quarles van Ufford, by her mother's first marriage to a Dutch nobleman.
Facts about her life
*Audrey had a difficult childhood. At at age 5 she was sent to boarding school in England, at 6 her father walked out on the family, and as a teenager she lived in occupied Holland during the war.
*The 1950s saw Audrey emerge as a major Hollywood movie star after first captivating audiences on Broadway in Gigi.
*During the 1960s, Audrey took on more daring roles such as Holly Golightly in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's. Audrey also became a mother after giving birth to her first son, Sean.
*Audrey's career took a back seat for most of the 1970s while she concentrated on being a mother to her two sons: Sean and Luca.
*Audrey found companionship with Dutch actor Robert Wolders, and found her most important role as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
***Audrey had the reputation of being a humble, kind and charming person, who lived the philosophy of putting others before herself.***
Audrey's entire film career would encompass less than thirty movies - a very slim filmography, but one that contains some of the best films of the fifties and sixties:

Roman Holiday (1953)
Sabrina (1954)
War and Peace (1956)
Funny Face (1957)
Love in the Afternoon (1957)
Green Mansions (1959)
The Nun's Story (1959)
The Unforgiven (1960)
Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)
The Children's Hour (1961)
Charade (1963)
Paris When It Sizzles (1964)
My Fair Lady (1964)
How to Steal a Million (1966)
Two for the Road (1967)

A fashion icon must have poise, elegance, and confidence. It is clear to see that Audrey Hepburn embodies all three of these characteristics just by watching her movies and glancing at her breathtaking photos.
One of the biggest fashion icons of all time, Audrey’s radiant style was simple and timeless. Credited with “single-handedly making bosoms a thing of the past,” she redefined beauty and elegance. Every woman should know how to incorporate “Audrey Chic” into her wardrobe.
Givenchy began designing Audrey Hepburn’s costumes in 1954, when she played Sabrina. They became close friends and he continued to design for her films and personal wardrobe.

MY LIFE>SKINS FAN test!!!

You know you've been watching too much Skins when...

3. You’re convinced a gay boy at your school is being stalked by at least one straight girl.

4. When someone mentions Osama or 9/11 you ask, “Which one?”

5. You understand why Maxxie and Anwar are best friends.

10. You actually believe that anyone like that obnoxious chick in Season 2, Episode 6 exists.

14. Instead of counting sheep you make lists like this one to go to sleep.

15. You have done any of the things on the show post-watching. (Doesn’t count of you did them before, half-counts if you increase activity in taboo areas after watching. Same goes for scoring.)

17. You begin to like the music they use on the show.

18. You have this idea of Russia as a wild, inventive place.

19. You want to go to Russia for reasons other than family, jobs, or studying (Four points if you want to go there just for the sake of losing your virginity.)

20. You know all the plot twists through Season 3, and you live in America (this doesn’t count if you read it on Wikipedia).

21. You’ve made a book list of all the books Tony’s read. (Give yourself four points if you actually read them.)

22. You knew that the girl in Season 2, Episode 6 is supposed to be some sort of metaphor for the Jungian theory (unless you read it off Wikipedia. Full points if someone told you just because you have friends that are that obsessed.)

23. You now think of Brits as party animals.

24. You completely understand the British schooling system without having had any prior knowledge.

25. You are invited to a party and are shocked when it is not completely made up of drugs and sex.

26. Everyone around you wants to get laid. Everyone.

27. You are now wary of working class flats and scan all the windows every time you go through an apartment block, just in case.

28. You wrote a song about Sid and Cassie’s undying love.

29. You’ve forgotten that cops exists.

30. You want to name your son Maxxie.

31. You want to name your daughter Jal.

34. It is physically impossible to be shy.

35. You consider flirting to be an outdated term/act.

36. You aspire to be a real estate agent or a drug dealer.

37. You’d actually consider giving some a hard helmet as a gift.

38. You actually own the DVDs for full price (only half-counts if you pooled your money with a friend, does not count at all if they were a gift from anyone 35 plus, unless they’re cool.)

39. You’d try and persuade someone to dress as Maxxie for a costume party (four points if you would dress as Maxxie for a costume party).

40. You’ve read any fanfiction about the show.

41. You’ve created a FaceBook profile for any of the characters.

46. You don’t trust Welsh women anymore.

47. You are me.

***If you don’t like the show but have 12 plus points, give yourself an extra four points. Aaand here’s the scoring system;

0-15 point: Average
16-30: Mm, you either watch it frequently, maybe you like it a little too much.
31-45: You really need to stop watching that show.

MUSIC>Songs About Giving Advice...

ADVICE Definition: an opinion or recommendation offered as a guide to action, conduct.
Giving and accepting advice is one part of life that helps us through the trials and tribulations we are faced with. The problem with advice is that we often don't take it, especially if it means doing or admitting something that we'd rather not. The great thing about advice songs is that you can kick back and listen to someone else coach you through a tough situation while rocking out at the same time. Save money on therapy and buy a new cd instead.
